Why Are We Moving?

In 2019 over 80 men attended Spruce Lake Men's Retreat.  This was our largest attendance in our 16 years of annual retreats.  Although Cedar Hall has served us well for the past 4 years, we have outgrown this space.  The next largest space at Spruce Lake would require a minimum of 125 men.  Although we are pleased with how we are growing year to year, we believe 125 to be a stretch for 2020.  Fortunately, Spruce Lake owns and operates Pinebrook Camp & Retreat Center in East Stroudsburg, PA.  The White Chapel meeting space requires a minimum of 100 men, a goal with stretch, but readily achievable.

Benefits of Pinebrook and White Chapel

  • At least 20 minutes shorter driving time from Doylestown, Souderton, Quakertown, and Montgomery County.
  • White Chapel meeting space is ground level with windows for better lighting, and is close to a square configuration for better seating arrangements.
  • Honeybrook and Sunnybrook accommodations are both newly remodeled and refurnished with in-room climate controls.  We are not required to use any upper bunk space with 3 men to a room/private bath.  For small groups of 4 or 5 who desire to bunk together, 1 or 2 men can use upper bunks by choice.
  • Food service and menus are provided by the same vendor as Spruce Lake and should have the same quality and choices.  The snack bar is open more frequently and for longer times.
